Volunteer!

Can you read out loud with pizzazz? Can you channel Dr. Seuss, or bring a costumed storybook character to life? Or would you be just as happy to help us sort and tag books? Volunteering with READ 20 is easy, fun, and allows you to make a huge difference in the lives of children. Simply sign up below, and once you’ve passed our screening process (required for the safety of the children we serve), we’d love to have you join our team! Submit this form (or call Mr. Stewart at 423 443-2527) and you’ll hear from us shortly!

Stewart Payne, our Readmobile Coordinator, will provide read-aloud guidance or other necessary training, and will supervise all Readmobile volunteers. In most cases, volunteers are asked to commit to 2- 3 hours for read alouds, or for a book-sorting/tagging session in the warehouse. We also utilize costumed book characters for parades, special holiday activities, and special events like the County Fair – we always have a good time!
